Neuromodulation Therapy (rTMS) Launching in September

starting this September, we are newly introducing the rTMS (Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) method in our private neurological clinic Neurologie Mištríková. As part of its all-in-one neuro-microclinic concept, Neurologie Mištríková is among the first in the Czech Republic to provide individualized, physician-neurologist led rTMS treatment using the certified Brainstim system.This is a non-invasive neuromodulation method that modulates the excitability of the cerebral cortex through targeted magnetic pulses. In neurology, rTMS is utilized as a complementary or alternative treatment option for patients who do not achieve sufficient relief from conventional pharmacotherapy or experience adverse side effects.
My Unique Approach: Safety and Precision First
We are not a wellness center. Before initiating brain stimulation, the patient must have a finalized diagnosis of their condition. Should a patient lack a complete diagnostic workup, we can provide both EEG and full electrophysiological testing, including BAEP, VEP, MEP, and EMG, directly at our clinic, as we feature comprehensive, on-site diagnostic capabilities.
Which Indications Are Suitable for rTMS?
- Chronic Neuropathic Pain: Pain of nervous origin, e.g., various types of neuropathies, neuralgias, including post-herpetic neuralgia.
- Chronic Tinnitus: rTMS is considered after the failure of standard ENT and neurological protocols.
- Migraines and Tension Headaches
- Spasticity: e.g., post-stroke or in multiple sclerosis.
- Other Indications: Tremor, rigidity (e.g., in Parkinson's disease), and post-stroke speech disorders (aphasia).
An Ethical and Individualized Approach
In accordance with medical ethics, we wish to emphasize that rTMS is not a universal cure, and scientific studies demonstrate that patient response rates vary individually. While some patients experience significant relief and an improved quality of life, for others, the effect may be mild or temporary.
⚠️ Important: Who CANNOT Undergo rTMS Treatment? (Contraindications)
Because the device generates a powerful magnetic field, strict medical restrictions apply. The method cannot be administered in the following cases (similarly to rPMS, i.e., repetitive peripheral magnetic stimulation/high-intensity pulsed magnetotherapy):
- Implanted Electronic Devices: Pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), cochlear implants, or spinal cord/nerve stimulators.
- Metallic Implants in the Head and Neck Region: Vascular clips after aneurysm surgery, metallic fragments in the eye or skull. (Note: Standard dental implants, fillings, and braces do not contraindicate treatment).
- Epilepsy: rTMS cannot be administered in an outpatient setting to patients with active or insufficiently managed epilepsy in their medical history.
What Is the Procedure?
Every therapeutic cycle is preceded by an initial neurological consultation (2,000 CZK). During this session, we will review your medical records and prior test results, perform a thorough neurological examination, assess the indication criteria, and evaluate whether rTMS holds a genuine medical benefit for you.If the treatment is recommended and initiated, the cost of this consultation will be fully deducted from the price of your first session.To mark the launch of this service (from September to November), we are offering special introductory pricing for individual sessions as well as a discounted 9 + 1 FREE session package, which helps ensure the necessary continuity of your therapy.
