About the Examination

The acute neurological examination (excluding life-threatening conditions) is designed

  • for newly developed symptoms lasting a maximum of 2–4 weeks, subject to the current capacity of the neurological clinic. The physician will dedicate a maximum of 60 minutes to the patient.
  • Please note that a comprehensive clinical workup will not be performed unless required by the patient's medical condition.
  • The examination focuses strictly on the current acute neurological symptoms, such as sudden acute spinal pain, vertigo, or severe headaches.
  • This service is not intended for patients with chronic conditions who have already been evaluated by other specialists or neurologists and possess extensive medical documentation!Key Changes and Patient Information
  • Extended Duration: As of June 1, 2026, the duration of the acute examination has been standardized and extended from the original 30 minutes to a full 60 minutes. This ensures sufficient time for the acute patient without causing subsequent delays in the clinic schedule.
  • Registered Patients: Registered patients experiencing acute neurological symptoms (excluding life-threatening conditions) may receive priority treatment during clinic hours on the same day. This option is available strictly by prior telephone arrangement and is always subject to current clinic capacity.
  • Unregistered Patients: Unregistered patients can book an acute appointment online. Detailed information regarding booking options, available slots, and conditions for acute neurological examinations can be found [HERE].

Booking Rules: Acute vs. Chronic Patients

To provide high-quality care to all patients, it is essential to follow our booking rules. Please pay close attention to them – they help ensure that acute patients receive timely treatment, while chronic patients are given adequate time for comprehensive care, preventing unnecessary waiting times for scheduled appointments.

⏰ Acute Examination — 60 Minutes — NEWLY DEVELOPED SYMPTOMS ONLY!

  • When to book: Symptoms lasting up to 2–4 weeks. This includes severe spinal pain with or without radiating pain into limbs, limb weakness or numbness, tingling/pins and needles in limbs, gradually developing weakness, or vertigo (dizziness).
  • Initial Evaluation: This must be an initial evaluation for these specific new symptoms. You must not have undergone a neurological examination at another facility for this issue, or you were evaluated at an emergency department and possess a maximum of 1 medical report!
  • Not intended for: Long-term, stable symptoms that require a comprehensive diagnostic workup.

⚠️ Important Terms: In the event that you bring a larger amount of medical documentation requiring detailed review and administrative processing, if a more extensive workup is required, or if the physician evaluates that your symptoms are not of an acute nature, a fee corresponding to a Comprehensive Neurological Examination (CZK 1,500) will be charged.

There is no reason to reserve an acute time slot for chronic symptoms – acute appointments are not a cheaper substitute for a standard comprehensive examination.Thank you for respecting these rules. You are helping us ensure accessible and high-quality care for all patients.
