Specialist consultation/second opinion
A second opinion is a service that allows patients to obtain an independent expert assessment from another specialist regarding their diagnosis or proposed treatment plan. This approach provides the patient with a broader understanding of their health condition, supports informed decision‑making, and increases confidence in the recommended treatment options.
- The patient provides the specialist with complete medical documentation (medical reports, laboratory and imaging results, and hospital discharge summaries). It is advisable to bring a CD or USB drive with imaging data, or have the images sent electronically (PACS).
- Based on the analysis, the neurologist will issue a written opinion — confirming or revising the original diagnosis and recommending the optimal treatment plan.
- At the end of the consultation, the patient will receive recommendations for further steps, and if necessary, a referral to other specialists or specialized centers.
- A clinical examination is not included in this service, and the second opinion does not serve as an expert forensic report.

This service can be provided in person at the doctor's office (the physician must review the medical documentation in advance, especially if it is extensive). Alternatively, the doctor can be contacted online.
Consultation fees:
Online consultation: 1,000 CZK
In‑office consultation: 500 CZK for every started 30 minutes
Note: If the patient submits extensive medical documentation, the time required to review it beyond the standard duration of the consultation will also be included in the final price. The fee will be calculated based on the total time the physician spends reviewing the documentation and preparing the medical report (second opinion), i.e., 500 CZK for every 30 minutes.
